What is ADHD?
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood neuropsychiatric disorders in the country.
6.4 million American children between the ages of 4-17 have been diagnosed with ADHD.
2 out of 3 children diagnosed with ADHD will also have at least one co-occurring condition such as behavioral problems, anxiety, depression, and/or autism.
Later in life, ADHD has been associated with low self-esteem, poor academic performance, poor interpersonal skills, antisocial behavior, and substance abuse.
While the most common treatment for ADHD is medication, the side effects of the medication are causing many people to search for alternative options.
Research has also shown that reliance on daily medication may not serve as a long-term benefit because there may be no need to develop alternative learning and concentration strategies.
There are many reasons for someone to have trouble focusing and/or learning, and not everyone has ADHD. Therefore, only a trained professional may be able to accurately diagnose ADHD.

Evaluation
Our 3-hour evaluation and cutting-edge technology assists in creating treatment plans personalized to each patient’s unique brain and needs.
Combining QEEG brain map (brain wave analysis) testing with functional markers of brain function such as neurocognitive testing, VOG/VNG (digital eye movement recording), computerized dynamic posturography (digital balance assessment), hand-eye coordination, and a thorough neurological and physical examination, our clinicians are able to find functional deficits which may be contributing to the symptoms of ADHD.
Treatment Methods & Modalities
At The Neurologic Wellness Institute, our ADHD program offers a natural, drug-free path to better focus, emotional regulation, and cognitive control. Instead of suppressing symptoms with medication, we help clients retrain the brain through personalized neurological care. This approach is non-invasive, evidence-based, and rooted in functional neurology and functional medicine.
Tailored, Brain-Based Therapies
Every client begins their journey with an in-depth evaluation that assesses brain function and nervous system performance. This data-driven approach allows our team to develop a targeted care plan specific to the individual’s needs. There is no one-size-fits-all model. Each therapy plan is customized for the person’s unique presentation.
Therapies may include:
- Neurofeedback for ADHD, a tool that trains the brain to self-regulate and improve concentration and emotional stability.
- Vestibular and visual therapies that activate specific brain pathways involved in spatial awareness, balance, and processing speed.
- Eye-head coordination exercises to support motor planning, cognitive timing, and sensory integration.
- Postural training and movement-based activities to support physical and neurological stability.
- Primitive reflex integration, which helps address reflexes that may remain active past early brain development and interfere with learning and behavior.
This wide range of ADHD therapy options is designed to engage the brain through active learning and movement, creating lasting changes in how the brain processes and responds to the world. We focus on restoring neurological function, not just managing symptoms, making this an effective and empowering form of non-medication ADHD treatment.

ADHD NeuroRecovery Program
The Neurologic Wellness Institute offers a drug-free approach through brain-based therapies aimed to improve focus, concentration, reading, memory, and/or behavioral problems.
ADHD can impact both children and adults in different ways—and our program is designed to support individuals across all stages of life. At The Neurologic Wellness Institute, we specialize in evaluating and treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder using a comprehensive, drug-free approach grounded in neuroplasticity.
We work with children who have been diagnosed with ADHD, attention deficit disorder, or other neurodevelopmental disorders. Many show early signs like impulsivity, hyperactivity, emotional outbursts, or difficulty learning in traditional classroom environments. In some cases, underlying neurological conditions such as dyslexia, anxiety, or autism spectrum disorder may also be present. These children often experience delays in brain development or struggle with retained primitive reflexes that interfere with attention and behavior.
Our pediatric ADHD care is tailored to each child’s needs. By targeting specific areas of the nervous system and improving neurological function, we help children gain better control over their emotions, actions, and ability to focus. This isn’t just behavior management—it’s a deeper process of strengthening how the brain and body work together.
ADHD in adults often looks different. Many of our adult clients have spent years dealing with poor time management, trouble with organization, forgetfulness, or difficulties in relationships or work settings. In some cases, these struggles are misdiagnosed or overlooked as general stress or mental health issues. Our team of functional neurologists helps adults gain clarity on how their brain is wired and develop personalized strategies to support executive function and emotional balance.
This work is especially helpful for individuals managing overlapping conditions like anxiety, a neurological disorder, or a history of brain injury. Our clients, children and adults alike, often tell us that for the first time, they feel understood and supported with tools that actually make a difference.
Whether addressing attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or supporting someone through the complexities of a neurological condition, our approach is rooted in compassion, science, and results.
