          Neurofeedback

The neurofeedback process begins by obtaining a QEEG (quantitative electroencephalography) brain map. Using sensors on the scalp, we can measure and record the electrical impulses happening in your brain. The computer software then takes this information, compares it to normative data, and produces a brain map. This map tells us which areas are firing appropriately and which are not.

We can use this information to then train the brain using biofeedback techniques specific for the brain. With training, neurofeedback produces improvement in brain activity which results in reduced symptoms and improved function.

          Neurofeedback can help with:

            • mTBI/Concussion
            • Anxiety
            • ADHD
            • Sleep Disorders
            • Mood Disorders
            • Headaches
            • Concentration Problems

              Functional Neurology

              Building New Brain Connections

The brain is continuously changing in both structure and function based on the environmental demands place on it each day. Understanding the specific pathways in the brain allows our clinicians to use a variety of treatments aimed to alter brain function and structure. The Neurologic Wellness Institute offers personalized neurological rehabilitation for a variety of disorders and complaints.

Combining the applications of vestibular rehabilitation, gait rehabilitation, balance training, eye-movement exercises, visual therapy, auditory therapy, coordination training, neurofeedback, physical rehabilitation strategies, and numerous physiotherapy modalities, our treatments are designed to optimize neurological function through the principles of neuroplasticity.

                Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is the medical use of oxygen in a pressurized environment at a level higher than the oxygen concentration in the atmosphere. Increased pressure allows the oxygen molecules to dissolve and saturate into the bloodstream, yielding a variety of positive physiological, biomechanical, and cellular effects.

This noninvasive therapy is the most trusted way to increase oxygen levels to all organs within the body. A typical treatment lasts for 60-90 minutes, during which a patient lies down and breathes normally.

                  Functional Medicine

                  Metobolic Brain Support

A neuron needs three things to survive – oxygen, glucose (fuel from the food we eat), and stimulation. The neuron uses these three things to create energy to support normal cell functions and protect itself from stressors and disease. The food we eat and our environment can have direct impacts on these processes. The information received through each patients’ detailed health history, lifestyle evaluation, and laboratory testing determines if functional medicine counseling will be part of their management plan.
