Ask Dr. Nick

On today’s episode, Dr. Nick talks about the benefits of intermittent fasting for human health. Intermittent fasting is better termed time-restricted feeding in which you only eat in a specific time frame during the day. This may be eating in an 8-hour window from 8 am to 4 pm or 11 am to 7 pm. There are also shorter or longer feeding times possible. Fasting for at least 12 hours, but better at 16 hours, has been shown to improve inflammatory disorders, heart health, memory, and other brain disorders. This is mostly due to the effect on inducing ketosis and giving the body a break from digesting and building tissues. Check out the video for more in depth information on the benefits of intermittent fasting!
