Frequently Asked Questions
DO YOU ACCEPT INSURANCE?
Our Chicago and Wood Dale locations are in network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. If you have another PPO policy and/or have BCBS PPO, but are attending the Boca Raton or Wisconsin locations, upon request, we will provide a statement showing dates of service with the billing codes and payment for services that you will need in order to submit a claim on your own behalf for any type of reimbursement. Applicable NWI fees are expected to be paid on the day services are rendered.
HOW CAN I SCHEDULE MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
DO I HAVE TO TRAVEL TO THE INSTITUTE FOR MY APPOINTMENT?
Our programs require patients to be in person for their initial exam and neurorehab program. We do offer an at home neurofeedback program for established patients. For patients traveling in from out of state of out of the country, we offer in-person intensive programs followed by at-home therapy.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
In addition to the intake paperwork that you will send in prior to your appointment, it is important to bring all relevant scans and reports that you may have received in the past. This may include MRI or CT scans, as well as any blood work related to your current condition.
What is the neurologic wellness institute cancellation policy for new exams?
HOW CAN I SEND OVER MY PREVIOUS MEDICAL HISTORY RECORDS?
DO YOU WORK WITH CHILDREN?
Yes, we work with children of all ages for a wide range of conditions. We commonly see kids who are having trouble in school paying attention, difficulty reading, difficulty interacting with others, and/or after a trauma.
DO YOU WORK WITH ATHLETES?
Yes, we work with athletes from elementary school into the professional leagues. Athletes often seek our help for clinical care following a concussion or other injury. Others may have no injury yet seek a competitive edge, so they complete the program for performance enhancement. Either way, our athletes experience improved mental, visual, and neuromuscular control following our individualized therapies and at-home exercises.
HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT PROGRAM?
The treatment plan is variable in length based on the patient’s condition. Typically we see patients initially for 12 treatments over a period of 1 to 3 weeks. After the treatments, we perform a re-evaluation and update the treatment plan if necessary.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROGRAM IS OVER?
After the program is over, the patient will have a consult with their doctor. Their doctor will answer any questions and discuss the patient’s progress. Any necessary at-home and/or in-office treatments that are recommnded will be discussed. We commonly give patients at home exercises to continue their progress.
