Diagnoses

What is Dizziness?

L

Although dizziness is quite common, the cause for each person’s symptoms can vary greatly.

L

Different types of dizziness require different treatments.

Therefore, anyone who is suffering from dizziness should seek out a trained specialist to undergo a thorough evaluation and begin a specific treatment plan unique to their condition.

L

At The Neurological Wellness Institute, we do not believe in cookie-cutter treatments for dizziness.

L

All too often patients are given the same book of exercises no matter their individual cause or symptoms of their dizziness.

This one-size-fits-all approach we believe to be ineffective in many cases and produces limited results, and many times may make the symptoms worse.

All of our patients’ dizziness treatments are specific to their individual needs.

Evaluation

Our 3-hour initial evaluation allows us to identify and understand the cause of a person’s dizziness/vertigo and/or unsteadiness.

Our detailed intake process includes performing a VOG/VNG (digital eye movement recording), computerized dynamic posturography (digital balance assessment), QEEG brain map (brain wave analysis), computerized neurocognitive evaluation, hand-eye coordination, and a thorough neurological and physical examination.

We also take the time to review any relevant vestibular and/or audiologic laboratory testing, as well as blood work.
