Dr. David Traster

Dr. David Traster is a globally recognized chiropractic neurologist and functional neurologist, widely regarded as one of the leading chiropractic neurologists and functional neurologists in the United States specializing in complex neurological rehabilitation. He serves as a board member of the American Chiropractic Neurology Board (ACNB) and is a Diplomate of the ACNB (DACNB), representing the highest level of certification in chiropractic neurology.
Dr. Traster is an Assistant Professor at the Carrick Institute, where he teaches in the Diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology and Functional Neurology programs and leads the Vestibular Rehabilitation curriculum. He has trained physicians and healthcare professionals across every continent, lecturing internationally to clinicians of all specialties on advanced neurological diagnosis and rehabilitation. In recognition of his teaching excellence, he was named Instructor of the Year by the Carrick Institute. In addition to his board certification and faculty roles, Dr. Traster has completed advanced fellowship training in brain injury, childhood developmental disorders, movement disorders, and vestibular disorders.
Clinically, Dr. Traster is known for treating complex and chronic neurological conditions that often do not respond to traditional care. His primary areas of focus include dizziness and vertigo, dysautonomia (including POTS), concussion and traumatic brain injury, chronic pain, headaches, movement disorders, balance and gait disorders, cognitive dysfunction, and developmental neurological conditions. Due to his clinical outcomes, patients travel from around the world to participate in his intensive, personalized 1–2 week neurological rehabilitation programs where sees patients in Boca Raton, Florida.
Dr. Traster has authored over 45 peer-reviewed case studies published in mainstream neurology and medical journals, contributing to the advancement of functional and clinical neuroscience. His work bridges cutting-edge neurophysiology with practical, patient-centered rehabilitation strategies.
He earned his Bachelor of Science from Boston University and completed both his Doctor of Chiropractic and Master’s degrees at Life University. He later achieved his Diplomate in Chiropractic Neurology/Functional Neurology through the Carrick Institute for Graduate Studies, representing the highest level of postdoctoral training in the field. He has certifications as well in Applied Kinesiology (PAK) and as a Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP).
Mentored by Dr. Frederick Robert Carrick, the founder of modern functional neurology, Dr. Traster continues to advance the field through clinical innovation, research, and global education.
