“Thanks to neuroplasticity the brain has the ability to recover after injuries and/or specific diseases.”

Did you know that your brain is constantly changing based on what you do every day? If you knew you could spend a few minutes a day doing specific exercises or activities to make your brain healthier, would you do it?

What is Neuroplasticity?

Brain plasticity, otherwise known as neuroplasticity, refers to the capacity of the nervous system to change its structure and its function over a lifetime, in reaction to environmental interactions. These changes in the brain include the following:

  • Chemical changes
  • Anatomical/Structural changes
  • Genetic changes
  • Behavioral changes.

When we engage in new experiences or learn something, a healthy brain begins to create new brain connections that represent learning. These connections continue to be strengthened through repetitive use and practice. When the brain connections are strengthened, it becomes easier for us to do a specific task.

Thanks to brain plasticity, the brain has the ability to recover after injuries (brain injury/concussion, stroke) or specific diseases (MS, Parkinson’s, ADHD, memory impairments) to help reduce symptoms and improve function.

Personalized Brain Exercises Build Neuroplasticity

Specific exercises given by a trained clinician can activate brain plasticity. Depending on what you are suffering from, personalized brain exercises may be given to help improve function and reduce symptoms.
