Ask Dr. Nick

On today’s episode, Dr. Nick talks about Alzheimer’s disease and cognitive decline. Alzheimer’s disease is the third leading cause of death in the United States, but all medication trials are unsuccessful. The problem with medication trials is that they are trying to cure one cause of Alzheimer’s when there may be multiple. Dementia and all its forms should instead be looked at as a multifactorial disease. Possible causes are infectious pathogens, insulin resistance and poor blood sugar control, nutrient depletion, hormonal irregularities, and distress from environmental toxins and heavy metals. The main drivers of the disease need to be identified and treated through a personalized approach. The article discussed is about 100 patient case studies following this ReCODE protocol developed by Dr. Dale E. Bredesen. Check out the video for more in depth information on how Alzheimer’s and cognitive decline can be reversed!
